Howard Johnson by Wyndham Buena Park

We have stayed here a few times in the past month. They accept cash payments with a 100.00 deposit. We needed that because we had fraud on our bank card and had a temporary card that doesn’t have the chip in it. Most hotels these days do not accept a card without a chip nor do they take cash, so we really appreciated that they took cash. The first room we had was two queens and it was ok,I don’t think it was one of the newer rooms but it was good for the price. Nothing that was so bad that it needs mentioned. It had carpet and the carpet wasn’t bad. I was able to walk in my socks and they didn’t turn black. That’s a plus in my book! The second room we stayed in was The deluxe King and we were absolutely excited. It was so clean, everything was newer and the bed was SO comfortable. Hard wood floors and a new bathtub/shower. The room was big! It’s in a good location and the price is great. Air and heater worked good and the Wi-Fi worked great for me and we stayed for over a week. It was spotty sometimes, mostly at night but nothing unbearable. There is no breakfast at all but we already knew that when we checked in. They do offer free coffee in the office and the office opens at 6 am. I wake up super early so I would just go to the gas station on the corner for my coffee. They do have coffee makers in the room but I need a big cup of coffee in the morning lol. Over all I have no complaints. The people who run the hotel are awesome! We will be back for sure.

The staff was very friendly and competent. The bed was very comfortable and the selection of pillows very good. The shower had hot water with great pressure. The waffles and orange juice for breakfast were delicious. It was quiet at the back of the hotel where we were and the curtains blocked out the light very well. Also the air conditioning worked very well.

Room was clean. Bed was comfortable with plenty of pillows. Bathroom was clean with extra roll of toilet paper and some toiletries. Plenty of towels. Had a microwave and mini frig. Flat screen TV about 50 inches I think. Black out curtains. Air conditioner but I didn't turn it on. Desk area, Sitting lounge chair, rolling chair, Coffee maker with coffee grounds. Closet with ironing board.

The room was a good size for 3 of us. The furniture was a little old but we didn't use. The room was really clean but had a little stench that opening the window solved that issue. I didnt get continental breakfast. A few questionable customers roaming around. Jacuzzi n pool was clean. Overall great price n clean, I would go back.

during my 2 week stay I appreciated the genuine interactions with the staff individually from maintenance to housekeeping all the front desk workers the manager whom I believe checked me in. each encounter was the epitome of customer service in my opinion. they sanitize the restroom and put the sanitzed label around the lid so you know it’s been cleaned. that made me happy. any help I needed was promptly given from coins for the laundry to towels at night or help with tv. I’ve stayed at many hotels recently and some have been downright atrocious in one way or another so it was a relief to find such a clean hotel without any nefarious characters hanging about with reasonable rates. Bottom line is, I enjoy being treated like a real person not just another customer and the entire staff at Howard Johnson by Wyndam Buena Park, executes this flawlessly during customer interaction
