We have stayed here a few times in the past month. They accept cash payments with a 100.00 deposit. We needed that because we had fraud on our bank card and had a temporary card that doesn’t have the chip in it. Most hotels these days do not accept a card without a chip nor do they take cash, so we really appreciated that they took cash. The first room we had was two queens and it was ok,I don’t think it was one of the newer rooms but it was good for the price. Nothing that was so bad that it needs mentioned. It had carpet and the carpet wasn’t bad. I was able to walk in my socks and they didn’t turn black. That’s a plus in my book! The second room we stayed in was The deluxe King and we were absolutely excited. It was so clean, everything was newer and the bed was SO comfortable. Hard wood floors and a new bathtub/shower. The room was big! It’s in a good location and the price is great. Air and heater worked good and the Wi-Fi worked great for me and we stayed for over a week. It was spotty sometimes, mostly at night but nothing unbearable. There is no breakfast at all but we already knew that when we checked in. They do offer free coffee in the office and the office opens at 6 am. I wake up super early so I would just go to the gas station on the corner for my coffee. They do have coffee makers in the room but I need a big cup of coffee in the morning lol. Over all I have no complaints. The people who run the hotel are awesome! We will be back for sure.

This Howard Johnson was a lovely motel, In terms of the style, I loved the trees surrounding the building and the courtyard outside of our room. It gave a nice feeling of the hotel during our stay. The basics of the hotel such as Beds, bathroom, A/C and room service was great and I have to say, the housekeepers are very consistent. They clean the rooms very fast and provide more sheets at your request. The Hotel is situated in a very good location with shopping malls and stores nearby which allowed us to do plenty of exploring outside the hotel.

I really enjoyed the staff especially the old housekeeping ladies Sarah I know they may have taken a vacation or something the last 2 weeks we were there but my only suggestions is to the new house keeping to be a little more customer service when someone doesnt speak spanish they dont want to really help but also touch up on their english because its very hard to communicate with them at times but google hellped a little to try and understand the language difference.

The waffles and orange juice for breakfast were delicious. It was quiet at the back of the hotel where we were and the curtains blocked out the light very well. Also the air conditioning worked very well.

I just love coming to the Howard and Johnson Buena Park, I love the rooms clean and spacious, I love the kind friendly housekeeping staff, their so pleasant makes you feel, comfortable and cared for awesome front desk staff as well.
